Research at Sir MVIT spans AI-ML and Data Science, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, Aerospace, Robotics, Power Electronics, Renewable Energy, Industrial IoT, Mechatronics and Civil Infrastructure. Funded projects come from DST, AICTE RPS, MeitY, DRDO, ISRO RESPOND and the Karnataka State Science and Technology Council. Faculty publish in IEEE, Springer, Elsevier and Scopus-indexed journals with steady year-on-year output. Recent patents include themes around UAV systems, agritech sensors, energy-efficient VLSI, edge AI for healthcare and intelligent transportation. Industry-academia partnerships include Cisco (Networking Academy), IBM, Microsoft, AWS, Bosch, Wipro and Robert Bosch Engineering. International MoUs with universities in the US and Asia support student exchange and joint research. The institute's Research and Consultancy Cell coordinates Ph.D. work, faculty-led applied projects and student-led innovation initiatives.
