NIT Hamirpur runs an extensive on-campus hostel system on its 320-acre campus. First-year B.Tech students typically get triple-occupancy rooms with double rooms from the second year and single rooms from the third year by seniority. Annual hostel and mess fees for 2025-26 are heavily subsidised — typically ₹35,000-55,000 per academic year inclusive of mess. Mess service includes vegetarian (with strong North Indian cuisine), non-vegetarian and Jain options. Wi-Fi, hot-water geysers, gymnasium access, study lounges and CCTV are standard. The Hamirpur Himachal climate is cool with cold winters (5-12°C December-February).
