JIIT Noida drives focused research across AI/ML, IoT, smart cities, biotechnology, computational biology, cyber security, network and communication, and signal processing. The institute houses the Centre for Excellence in AI/ML (sponsored by MeitY), the Centre for Bio-informatics and Computational Biology (DBT-funded), the Centre for Cyber Security and Forensics, the IoT and Embedded Systems Lab, and the Network and Communication Research Centre. Faculty publish 280-320 SCI/Scopus papers annually with research grants from DST, AICTE, DBT, ISRO, BARC, MEITY, UPCST and various private industry collaborations totaling INR 18-22 crore in any given fiscal year. The institute has filed 75+ patents in AI/ML, biomedical devices, IoT systems and cyber security, with 12 commercialised through industry partnerships. Active industry-academia partnerships include Microsoft Research India, IBM, Adobe Research, Cognizant, Tata Consultancy Services, Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, ISRO, DRDO and TIFR. The university operates 6 international research collaborations (Purdue, NTU Singapore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IISc Bangalore).
